Vision Planning and Quarterly Goal Setting

At the beginning of each year I make a vision plan based off of the Wheel of Life. The Wheel of Life is broken up into 8 different pieces, each area represents a different aspect of your life:

-Personal Development

-Health/Wellbeing

-Physical Environment (Apartment/Living and Work Space)

-Work/Career

-Finances

-Family and Friends/Community

-Fun

-Relationship/Love

I will write what I would like to make happen in each one of those areas by the end of the year. At the beginning of each quarter I reassess and then write a new plan of focus and set of intentions for the next 3 months.

It helps keep me to clarify what I want and keeps me focused.

Side-note: When doing this exercise I sometimes come to realize what I donโ€™t want as well. Once you put it down on paper, let it marinate or start to see it out, it could make you realize that what you picked to accomplish  might not be that important to you, or that you want to readjust your goals. Acknowledging what you donโ€™t want can sometimes be just as, if not more, important because it will lead you what do actually value and want to strive for.
